He founded the UK's first professional renewable energy company in 1980, pioneered pool heat pumps (now a $5B market), and established a public tyre pyrolysis company. McClory developed Vernonia oilseed in Ethiopia, securing a UN-backed bioresources agreement and patenting its use in skincare. Professor Tim Mason, with a PhD in physical organic chemistry, founded a sonochemistry research center at Coventry University.
